FT/PT: Full-time

PAY PLAN: 12-month

WORKPLACE TYPE: On-site (work in-person at business location)

ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $3,700 - $4,095

CSU CLASSIFICATION SALARY RANGE: $3,680 - $5,417

PAY BASIS: Monthly

POSITION PURPOSE: NSME's administrative support staff play a critical role in supporting the College’s and CSUB's mission, vision and values. The Administrative Support Assistant II provides moderate to complex clerical and administrative support to the Dean’s Office and the College of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering (NSME). This position ensures the effective operation of the office by independently performing a wide range of administrative functions including document preparation, scheduling, event coordination, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent exercises independent judgment and discretion in the completion of tasks, applies university policies and procedures, and plays a key role in supporting college-wide activities and customer service initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of recent (within five years) experience in an office environment.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA’s) -

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK - involves mainly sitting; minimal walking and standing; lifting light weight objects limited to 15 pounds.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS -

SCREENING: Only those applicants possessing experience most directly related to the immediate needs of the office will be invited to appear before a Qualifications Appraisal Board for the purpose of appraising training, experience, and interest in the position.
