Description

The Wildland Fire Planner & Recovery Coordinator is responsible for wildfire response and preparedness planning, wildfire risk mitigation planning, and post-wildfire recovery planning. All program areas require working with stakeholders to identify, plan and facilitate the processes that allow for effective and strategic implementation across all county jurisdictions. The Wildland Fire Planner & Recovery Coordinator is tasked with guiding proactive actions that will facilitate the county Wildland Fire Management Program resources, and its partners, to mitigate the risk of wildfire to its citizens and resources, facilitate effective fire response actions and minimize the impacts of wildfire to the citizens, communities and values at risk from wildfire incidents.

Description:

The Wildland Fire Planner & Recovery Coordinator is a new position and part of the recently approved Wildland Fire Management Program with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. This is a non-supervisory position and a key member of the Wildland Fire Management Program leadership team. The Wildland Fire Planner & Recovery Coordinator is responsible for wildfire response and preparedness planning, wildfire risk mitigation planning, and post-wildfire recovery planning. All program areas require working with stakeholders to identify, plan and facilitate the processes that allow for effective and strategic implementation across all county jurisdictions. The Wildland Fire Planner & Recovery Coordinator is tasked with guiding proactive actions that will facilitate the county Wildland Fire Management Program resources, and its partners, to mitigate the risk of wildfire to its citizens and resources, facilitate effective fire response actions and minimize the impacts of wildfire to the citizens, communities and values at risk from wildfire incidents. This is an in-person (not remote) salaried position that will work a 4-10 schedule (Monday-Thursday) but also is expected to be available outside the normal work week for incident support as needed.Fire assignments out of the county are possible, and professional development training and pursuit of NWCG qualifications will be encouraged, but dependent on funding and county fire risk conditions.

Starting Pay: 80,315.16 - 104,409.71 Annual

Top out Pay after Years of Service: 128,504.25 USD Annual


The incumbent must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, etc. as necessary.

Required:


Preferred: FFT1, Any single resource boss, LOFR, Geographic Information System (GIS) experience.

Work may include all hazard and emergency response activities.
