(Job #548112) Building Service Engineer, Salary Range: $ 5,998 - $8,737 monthly. This is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt, 12-month pay plan permanent position with a one-year probationary period in Facilities Management. Position Summary: Under general supervision of the Director of Facilities Maintenance, the incumbent performs a full range of independent skilled trades work and related tasks as required to maintain and/or modify building heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, commercial kitchen equipment, commercial laundry equipment and water systems. Incumbents in this classification may also provide instruction and lead direction to unskilled and semi-skilled assistants.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of journey-level experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, ventilating, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and systems or the equivalent combination of formal course work in mechanical technology and hands-on experience. Valid CA class C driver’s license and appropriate safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of hydronic boilers, compressed air, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and other mechanical equipment. Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment associated with building mechanical systems and equipment. General knowledge of ventilation principles, thermal dynamics, and close water systems. Working knowledge of energy management systems including ability to understand and use system features. General knowledge of applicable building and safety codes and regulations related to mechanical and HVAC systems. Possess or ability to quickly obtain EPA 608 Certification
