JOB POSTING

APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR FOSTER YOUTH (SYSTEMS IMPACTED YOUTH):
MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION APPRENTICE

The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts proudly offer a paid apprenticeship opportunity created specifically for current and former foster youth (age 18+). We recognize the resilience, determination, and motivation that current and former foster youth possess, and we believe these qualities are a source of strength. This opportunity provides on-the-job training, mentorship, and the chance to build skills that will last a lifetime.

We understand that each year thousands of young people age out of the foster care system without the same support or career access as their peers. Programs like this can be a critical bridge to long-term success and we are honored to walk this bridge with you. We have intentionally developed a supportive pathway where your potential is recognized and your future is nurtured.

If you are a current or former foster youth (age 18+), we strongly encourage you to apply for this paid apprenticeship within the maintenance and construction class. You will be welcomed into a supportive environment, paired with mentors, and given access to professional development opportunities. All of this comes while gaining hands-on experience and exposure to the wastewater field.

This paid apprenticeship is open to current and former foster youth, age 18 and older. As a Maintenance and Construction Apprentice, you’ll gain 18 months of hands-on experience working on a variety of real-world maintenance and construction projects.
