ABOUT THE POSITION

Clark County Family Services is seeking a qualified and licensed clinical professional to fill an Assistant Manager position, in the Office of Clinical and Community Services. The Office of Clinical and Community Services is offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the leadership of vital programs for system-involved and/or system-exposed youth. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing clinical services and managing the daily operations of institutional settings that serve this population. As part of the leadership team, the Assistant Manager will lead multiple teams, ensuring the application of evidence-based practices in treatment, effective assessments and clinical case management. Please note that this position may require weekend and/or off-hour work shifts to meet the needs of the program.

In order to work at the Department of Family Services, employees must not have any qualifying offense that violates the standards required by NRS 432B.198 and/or NRS 432B.199.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Human or Social Services, Sociology, Education or Special Education, Public or Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Counseling, Early Childhood, Health Science, Child Development, Nursing, Communications, Marketing or a related field AND five (5) years of full-time professional level experience providing protective casework/counseling services, assessments or treatment services or performing administrative, organizational analysis or budgetary experience in a child welfare, social service, juvenile justice and/or residential setting; three (3) years of which were at the supervisory level in one or more elements of a comprehensive child welfare, social service, juvenile justice and/or residential system. Possession of an advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the professional level experience outlined above, not inclusive of supervisory level experience.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

In the Department of Family Services (DFS), the Assistant Manager Family Services position provides oversight to staff assigned in one or more of the following divisions:

Administrative Services
Child Protective Services (CPS), Hotline,
Child Receiving/Placement

Fiscal Services and/Eligibility
Foster Parent Recruitment and Licensing
Medical Services
Permanency Case Management (Out-of-Home, In-Home or Adoptions)
Quality Assurance/Improvement

Shelter/Family Visitation Service

General Child Welfare and Administrative Services Tasks

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, to drive a motor vehicle or be capable of commuting to various off-site locations in order to attend meetings or make on-site visits; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Specified positions may require mobility and stamina to work in a shelter facility.
