Description
Higginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for a Occupational Therapist to be a part of a highly effective team that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state-operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services.
The Occupational Therapist must be detail-oriented, work well with others, have good time management skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs.
Responsibilities:Responsible for treating injured, ill, or disabled patients through the use of everyday activities. Directs occupational therapy assessments, treatments, interventions, administration, program planning, and documentation for HHC Individuals with disabilities. Applies clinical reasoning in developing occupational therapy plans and programs. Plans the workload for employees; provides supervision, training, and development. Additional responsibilities could include supervision of Therapeutic Service Workers, scheduling, and/or management of the Therapy Department.
Knowledge: Knowledge of principles and methods used to develop and implement individual treatment plans. Ability to understand, interpret, and adapt a physician’s written or oral directions utilizing evidence-based treatment options; and to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate therapists and aides.
Qualifications:Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Missouri.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.Schedule:Negotiable: Part-time (non-benefit eligible), permanent part-time (benefit eligible), and full-time options available, dependent on additional responsibilities.
