Calling All Interested Students!

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is seeking a creative and motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern who will utilize the Esri GIS platform to create and maintain a wide variety of maps, data and geospatial information products. Under close supervision, t he incumbent will assist in developing customer map and/or geospatial data product requirements, use Esri’s ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro map production tools to compose and generate a wide variety of geospatial products.

Students will learn and assist with the following:

• Assists with the collection, input, and mapping of GIS data.
• Assists with maintaining data on GIS products to author web maps and web applications.
• Evaluate data quality.
• Use mobile devices and mapping applications to capture data.
• Creates, updates, and maintains a variety of GIS databases in support of planning activities.

Minimum Requirements

Must be enrolled in one of our recognized colleges, universities, or trade schools.

Your most recent transcripts or proof of enrollment must be uploaded and submitted with your application.

Desired Qualifications

A genuine desire to enhance understanding of GIS, asset management, and the role of public infrastructure.
