Position DescriptionDesigns, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.
Major/Essential FunctionsThe Telehealth IT Specialist (Program Manager) is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and management of telehealth technology systems and services across Rural Affairs. This position bridges program operations with technical expertise to ensure that telehealth delivery is efficient, secure, and user-friendly for both providers and patients. This position provides direct IT support, manages key telehealth initiatives, and serves as a liaison between technical teams, clinical users, administrative leadership, and Rural Affairs staff. The Telehealth IT Specialist (Program Manager) is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and management of telehealth technology systems and services across Rural Affairs. This position bridges program operations with technical expertise to ensure that telehealth delivery is efficient, secure, and user-friendly for both providers and patients. This position provides direct IT support, manages key telehealth initiatives, and serves as a liaison between technical teams, clinical users, administrative leadership, and Rural Affairs staff.
- Serve as the lead technical point of contact for all telehealth platforms, hardware, and systems across designated sites or programs and across Rural Affairs.
- Manage day-to-day operations and workflows related to telehealth technology, including system upgrades, troubleshooting, and user support.
- Coordinate with clinical departments, IT staff, and vendors to support the planning, rollout, and integration of telehealth services.
- Train and support staff and providers on telehealth technologies and best practices for all stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to telehealth technology protocols, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Monitor telehealth utilization data and technology performance to inform improvements and report on outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and accessibility standards, including HIPAA and organizational IT policies.
- Support procurement, inventory/property management, and deployment of telehealth-related devices and software licenses.
- Assist in the development and management of program budgets, timelines, and grant reporting (if applicable).
- Participate in organizational telehealth committees or workgroups to align technology with strategic goals.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
