What You'll Be Doing

Wake County’s Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team is seeking a compassionate and professional Medical Interpreter (Fluent in English and Spanish) to aid mothers and families seeking our services. The primary responsibility of the Interpreter role is to provide Spanish interpreting services for patients with limited or no English proficiency who are receiving preventive health care within our Maternal and Child Health (MCH) section. The successful candidate will be expected to interpret from English to Spanish, and Spanish to English and be proficient in medical interpretation. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate the same warmth and understanding towards clients that our MCH team provides daily to all needing our help. Hiring Range: 25.07 - 26.49

Market Range: 25.07 - 31.18

Emergency Service Worker Statement

In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
