The Job

The Project & Facilities Management Department is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Equipment Parts Specialist II to ensure the timely availability of parts used to install, repair, and maintain County facilities. Under direction, this position also serves as a lead worker in warehouse operations and performs related duties as required. This is the advanced journey-level classification, responsible for planning, coordinating, and organizing operations within the Facilities Management warehouse. The Equipment Parts Specialist II may lead and provide guidance to lower-level staff. This class is distinguished from the Equipment Parts Supervisor, which carries broader supervisory responsibilities over the warehouse and a larger staff complement.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.

Shift: Incumbents may be required to work weekends to meet departmental needs.

License: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Required Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in parts procurement, inventory control, or warehouse operations, preferably in a public agency or facilities maintenance environment. Experience should include the use of computerized inventory systems and vendor relations.
