ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Systems Technician I/II position.
This recruitment will be used to fill various vacancies in SCADA & Telemetry (OT) and ITS Service Facilitation (IT). The positions will be primarily responsible for:
SCADA & Telemetry (Operational Technology): - Designing, configuring, testing, documenting, and maintaining local area and operational technology (OT) networks, including SCADA communication paths, ensuring high availability, integrity, and security of network services.
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting OT systems and SCADA-adjacent computing environments, including servers, HMIs, field devices, workstations, terminals, and communication interfaces across LAN/WAN/serial mediums.
- Assisting in securing Operational Technology assets by applying cybersecurity best practices and configurations to Windows-based systems, embedded devices, and network infrastructure; supporting incident response, patching, and user access reviews.
- Providing daily hands-on support to end users including SCADA Analysts, Controls Technicians, Operators, Mechanics, and Engineers—ensuring timely resolution of technical issues across all OT platforms.
- Participating in system upgrades and lifecycle projects, including documentation, vendor coordination, deployment scheduling, and user acceptance testing for both hardware and software solutions in production and test environments.
- Maintaining detailed technical documentation including system topology, configuration baselines, installation guides, knowledgebase articles, and network/security diagrams.
ITS Service Facilitation: - Providing frontline technical support to staff across the organization, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues via phone, remote tools, and in-person assistance across diverse environments including offices, workshops, and vehicles.
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes by provisioning and deactivating user accounts, assigning and recovering equipment, and managing access across systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Adobe, BlueBeam, and Autodesk.
- Maintaining accurate IT asset records in ServiceNow, overseeing the full device lifecycle — from procurement and deployment to reassignment, support, and retirement — ensuring asset data remains current and auditable.
- Documenting and managing all incidents and service requests in ServiceNow, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely updates throughout the resolution process; Contributing to operational efficiency by maintaining internal Knowledge Base articles and support documentation.
- Promoting endpoint security and compliance by applying organizational standards, assisting with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and collaborating with cybersecurity teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Utilizing strong critical thinking skills to analyze technical problems, reconciling conflicting information, and developing effective, well-reasoned solutions in fast-paced support scenarios.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience:
Systems Technician I - Equivalent to two (2) years of college level course work in computer science, information systems or a field related to the work AND two (2) years of full-time experience in installing and troubleshooting personal computer hardware and software.
Systems Technician II - In addition to the above, one (1) year of full-time experience in installing and troubleshooting personal computer and network hardware and software. Possession of a four-year degree in an appropriate field is desirable. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
