Position DescriptionThe IT Support Senior Technician has an expert level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT-related areas. This position's scope of responsibility includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of hardware and some software support and maintenance. The IT Support Senior Technician will also specialize in hardware and software that support institutional strategic initiatives, and manage area or unit IT projects that impact multiple departments or units.
Major/Essential Functions- Provide software and desktop support to students, staff, and faculty.
- Install and troubleshoot hardware, software, and mobile applications on new and existing systems.
- Perform system upgrades, including browser compatibility with Canvas and antivirus installations per TTUHSC IT standards.
- Assist with IT orientation for new School of Nursing students.
- Maintain Dell certifications to perform warranty repairs on Dell systems.
- Track and maintain SON equipment inventory and ensure proper functionality.
- Support IT and AV needs for web conferencing and online meetings.
- Assist TTUHSC Network and Techlink teams with issue resolution for SON users.
- Manage Abilene PC lab computers and printers.
- Support faculty use of student engagement tools.
- Travel to Dallas/Mansfield, San Antonio, and Austin for IT/logistics support as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with IT products and services.
- Collaborate with SON and TTUHSC IT on projects (e.g., office expansion, construction, infrastructure upgrades).
- Manage projects with strong attention to detail and on-time delivery.
- Maintain copier records and report to the Associate Managing Director across multiple campuses.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus seven (7) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal eleven (11) years.
