RequirementsMOS Code: 3N0X6 (Air Force), 68J (Army), 340 (Coast Guard), 0532 ( Marine Corps ), A12A (Navy) Education and Experience : An Associate’s degree or higher in Business or Public Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
Licenses and Certificates: Some positions may require a Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.
General PurposeUnder general supervision, coordinate marketing and public relations activities for the City’s social media platforms.
Typical DutiesPlan, implement and monitor the social media strategy for the City of El Paso. Involves: Post text, videos and images that engage the public on various social media platforms. Use social media marketing tools to create and maintain the City’s brand and messaging. Work with Strategic Communications staff and Department Heads to develop social media marketing campaigns. Research social media trends and inform the Strategic Communications Director of changes and proposed strategies that are relevant to the City’s social media marketing activities. Follow online conversations on the City’s primary social media accounts and solve concerns using social media platforms. Record and broadcast City events, programs and services via social media applications such as, but not limited to, Facebook Live, Facebook/Instagram Stories, Facebook/Instagram Reels, and other similar social media software applications.
Develop and analyze the City’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy. Involves: Identify strategic weaknesses and make recommendations for improvements. Identify, plan and execute social media promotional opportunities. Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns. Measure a campaign’s performance against the KPIs. Develop analytical reports and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of online communication strategies.
Represent the organization. Attend various meetings and conferences and interact with a wide range of officials, department directors, coworkers and the public. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Interact with customers and other stakeholders via the City’s social media accounts with support from the Strategic Communications staff, Department Heads, and the Senior Administrative Ombudsman.
