Position Description: The EMS & Trauma Manager will manage the Trauma and Emergency Management Services teams and provides leadership to staff on rule and statutory requirements.
Duties:- Supervises Emergency Management Services (EMS) and Trauma teams including coordinators, data staff, licensing staff, and quality improvement staff.
- Oversees staff work with advisory councils and other external groups; ensures compliance with the Open Meetings Act.
- Ensures staff work falls within the scope of the agency’s authority.
- Ensures staff meet rule and statutory requirements.
- Coordinates EMS compact state requirements.
- Serves as point of contact for transition to online EMS licensure.
- Works with budget manager and contract monitor to ensure timely distribution of Trauma Fund and the Oklahoma Emergency Response System Stabilization and Improvement Revolving Fund.
- Responsible for content of Trauma and EMS webpages.
- Ensures licensure applications are clear, concise, and straight-forward, ensuring all requirements for licensure are included in the licensure application process.
- Presents to advisory councils and other external groups as needed.
- Implements robust cross-training protocols for staff.
- Interprets data from various reports to make recommendations to leadership.
- Ensures programmatic deadlines are met.
- Maintains awareness of national trends and best practice recommendations.
- Responsible for reviewing all funding requests to ensure they do not exceed administrative cost restraints and align with statutory authority.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, management, public health, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in an administrative or professional capacity in public health, healthcare, business, or public administration. Must have a minimum of two years supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates with a master’s degree and three progressive years of experience in an emergency management position; A certified Paramedic or licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Oklahoma; More than three years of experience with complex responsibilities and supervision for more than 10 staff members; experience with the Oklahoma rule promulgation process.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position is set in an office environment with climate-control and exposure to moderate levels of noise. While performing job duties employee is required to talk, stand, walk, reach with arms and legs, and move boxes as needed. This position may be required to complete inspection review services in the field.
Telework: This position is not eligible for Telework.
