This opportunity is for a full-time, benefit-eligible position which offers an exciting, progressive, fast paced, team-based work environment. This position is located at the home office in Columbia, Missouri and serves over 30 other offices throughout the state. The technology environment includes Microsoft servers, Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office 365 applications and HCL applications and email. Primary duties include supporting end-users on all applications and software products used in the MSPD system. Consisting of both Microsoft applications and custom-built HCL Notes applications. Troubleshooting of PCs, peripherals, networking connections and basic LAN hardware is expected. Important considerations in filling this position will be experience with application troubleshooting, administration and support, customer support, basic hardware and networking support, strong communication skills, strong analytical skills, and basic IT security knowledge. All I.T. degrees are encouraged to apply.
- Software and application support for end-users.
- Basic user account and security administration.
- Assist with application development, testing and support.
- User support for hardware and networking issues.
- Assist with hardware deployment.
- Assist with maintaining IT Inventory.
- Cloud applications support and training.
- Work with other Public Defender IT staff on other assigned duties.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with users, peers, vendors and management by phone, email and in person.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in information technology or closely related field (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Knowledge or experience of relational databases and flat file systems.
- Knowledge of programming with C#, .NET, VB Script, or other OOP and scripting languages.
- Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, 365 Applications, Active Directory, remote software tools, hardware support, VPN.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic software and application issues.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with co-workers and other professionals.
- Exceptional customer service skills and documentation skills.
- Knowledge/experience in the desktop support area.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of the team.
- Adequate typing skills.
- Ability to lift computer and printer equipment up to 50lbs.
- Ability to safely use ladders up to 12 feet in height. This includes proper set up, stability maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to travel, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
