Description

The Position

The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of SENIOR WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE MECHANIC to fill one (1) vacancy in theWastewater Division of the Public Works Department. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

Under general supervision, a Senior Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic will supervise and participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy industrial/plant mechanical and electromechanical machinery and equipment; and do related work as required.

Qualifications

Recruitment Guidelines:

Education : High School diploma or satisfactory equivalent (GED).

Experience : Five years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of heavy industrial plant mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, vari-speed and chain drives, lift stations and related equipment. Lead experience is desirable.

Necessary Special Requirement(s):
*A Senior Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic hired or promoted prior to January 1, 2024, is "grand-fathered” so the CWEA Mechanical Technologist, Grade III certification is not a requirement. An incumbent hired or promoted to the Senior Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic after December 31, 2023, must possess the CWEA Mechanical Technologist Grade II Certification and must obtain the CWEA Mechanical Technologist Grade III certification within 12 months of hire or promotion date.
