CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background: Prior to appointment, applicants will be fingerprinted and must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony. Some departments may require an additional background screening, which includes a credit check.

Shift: Some positions require availability to work all shifts; incumbents may be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, evenings, and may be required to assist after normal duty hours in emergency situations. Shift differentials and overtime compensation are available. Indicate shift availability on the supplemental questionnaire.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require Visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Must meet ONE of the following options:

Option 1:

Three (3) years of full-time work experience performing a wide variety of complex, specialized office clerical duties, which are non-routine in nature and require independent decision making.

Option 2:

Two (2) years of full-time equivalent fiscal work experience reviewing, reconciling, and maintaining fiscal/accounting records as the primary function of the job.

Option 3:

Two (2) years of clerical experience within a law enforcement agency utilizing a variety of agency systems including warrants, jail management, records imaging, and state and federal teletype applications such as JIMS, CLETS and NCIC.

Note: Retail sales and food service experience is not qualifying.

Specialized Experience: Some positions may require specialized experience. You must complete the appropriate portion of the Supplemental Questionnaire in order to be considered.
