The Larimer County Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) is seeking community-minded volunteers to help build strong partnerships between law enforcement and the public, with the shared goal of enhancing safety and reducing crime across Larimer County’s homes, schools, offices, and neighborhoods. CPU volunteers serve as trained liaisons who educate the community on crime prevention strategies, promote public awareness, and support the Sheriff's Office at outreach events and through administrative roles. Volunteers play a vital role in strengthening trust and collaboration between the public and the LCSO.

Team members function as members of a non-commissioned volunteer force within the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. Members shall be responsible to and under the direct supervision of the Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) CPU Unit Coordinator. All members must abide by the rules and regulations of the LCSO and Crime Prevention Unit. Assignments for team members will come through the Unit Coordinator.

The Sheriff’s Office prohibits possession of marijuana by employees under any circumstances and expects employees to comply with federal law.
