Pay Range: $19.74/hr. - $24.67/hr.

***$2,000 Sign-On Incentive: 50% paid on the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after 6 months of employment. *** Workdays & Hours: Depending on assignment:
- Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm, or
- Tuesday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:30pm

- Southside Service Center - 4100 Columbus Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76133
This position is a first responder in severe weather conditions/emergencies which will be subject to work after hours, emergency call back hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and will participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

An Equipment Operator job is available with the City of Fort Worth TPW Street Operations Department. Candidates for this position will work in designated asphalt and concrete maintenance sectors.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED.
- One (1) year of responsible experience in operation of heavy equipment or construction experience.
- Must possess a Class A Driver's License and ability to obtain a Tank Endorsement will be required within six (6) months of hire. Operations of a dump truck, equipment hauling and operating various equipment as required.
- Must pass Drug Screen, Physical.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with concrete and asphalt.
- Additional construction repair and maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Experience with saws, compressor, generator, various hand tools, excavator, etc.
- Work zone safety.
- Basic computer skills & data entry experience.
The Equipment Operator job responsibilities include: - Works in all weather conditions.
- Equipment operations and manual labor duties as they relate to street maintenance operations.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment assigned. Perform pre and post trip inspection on equipment.
- Loads and unloads heavy materials and equipment by hand and with tools/machines.
- Assists with set-up of traffic control cones and barriers.
- Maintain paperwork, respond to high priority calls and provide training and instruction to other personnel who operate equipment related to assigned division.
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.
Physical Demand Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
