Job Posting Closing on: Monday, August 4, 2025 Workdays & Hours: Part-time, in-office with flexible schedule Monday - Friday between 8am - 5pm; not to exceed 19 hours a week.

A part-time
Office Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department,
East Division Patrol. The Fort Worth Police Department exists to safeguard the lives and property of those we serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety through partnering and building trust with the community. East Division emphasizes community-oriented policing, with residents actively involved in crime prevention and community improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED certification.
- Two (2) years of responsible clerical experience.
- Must pass Drug Screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).

The Office Assistant job responsibilities include: - Answers telephone and email and provides assistance to the general public, city staff and officials. Provides information on departmental and city policies and procedures as required.
- Provide efficient and courteous customer service to individuals contacted in the course of work; processes or refers questions, complaints and needs as necessary.
- Collects, processes, and distributes correspondence and other materials within the department.
- Files documents and reports in an organized manner according to department specifications; organizes files and retrieves departmental or divisional records.
- Operates a variety of office equipment including telephone, computer, copy machine, fax or other equipment related to duties.
- Uses computer to prepare routine forms, letters, reports and other data; inputs records; assembles reports, copies, collates and staples documents.
- Provides general clerical support as assigned by staff in assigned department.
- Performs related duties as required
Working Conditions & Physical Demands Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.
Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work
Final candidates selected for hire in the
Police Department will be subject to a fingerprint/criminal history background check and polygraph examination.
Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous two (2) years, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last ten (10) years. Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
