The Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) is seeking a seasoned and service-oriented leader to serve as the Board Support Officer (Classification: Assistant Officer) to the Board of Directors, a uniquely impactful role at the intersection of governance, executive administration, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting directly to the Clerk of the Board, this position plays a vital role in supporting the seven-member elected Board, ensuring its operations run seamlessly through expert coordination, clear communication, and strategic guidance. As a trusted advisor and intermediary, the Board Support Officer provides high-level executive support for seven Directors while managing complex logistics, crafting public and internal communications, and overseeing the flow of information between the Board, staff, and the public. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with elected officials and executive leadership, navigate dynamic interpersonal and political landscapes with discretion and professionalism, and oversee a dedicated team of three that manages and coordinates meetings of all Board and Advisory committees.
