RoleThe Development Services department is seeking a qualified
Land Use Specialist I to join our team!

The ideal applicant will possess experience in property site inspections, zoning ordinances, and a solid understanding of land use regulations.

Major Duties, Responsibilities- Inspects property sites for conformance with zoning and related regulations.
- Initiates appropriate enforcement action.
- Calculates activities and submits written reports on results of investigations.
- Assists the public in preparation of building and zoning permit applications and provides technical information pertaining to land use and zoning.
- Writes and issues permits in accordance with the zoning ordinances.
- Responds to natural disasters and completes damage assessments.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in zoning activities or related field.
Additional Requirements:Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must obtain Level I certification from the Code Enforcement League of Arizona within six (6) months of hire.

Must obtain Level II Zoning Certification from the Code Enforcement League of Arizona within six (6) months of hire.
