Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Dr, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who would like to work in the areas of data collection, data management, statistics, research methods and/or health information analysis and presentation. The position will be in the Bureau of Health Care Analysis and Data Dissemination and will conduct analysis and prepare data related to birth, mortality, fetal death, infant death, and abortions from Missouri Vital Statistics. This work involves writing and executing programs in SAS statistical programming language to link datasets to analyze and calculate various birth outcomes.

• Develop customized queries for adhoc requests and monthly and quarterly reports related to Missouri Vital Statistics.
• Conduct data quality and assure accuracy prior to publication for birth and death indicators found on MOPHIMS.
• Review requests for complex and/or confidential data through the data protocol process. Once projects receive approval, this position would be responsible for providing data on some of the projects.
• Write and edit reports for grant applications on various public health topics.
• Support maternal and child health programs and other units within the Department through providing birth and death statistics data.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree. Transcripts are required.
• At least two years of experience with data and analysis. Advanced education may be used as a substitute in applicable situations.
• Experience with spreadsheets and word processing programs such as Excel and Word as well as other PC desktop resources.
• Experience with SAS or other statistical software and general programming techniques is highly desirable but not required.
• Interest in data presentation and data visualization software is helpful.
• Experience linking datasets and/or database management would be helpful.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
