Police Records Technician
Description
Summary of position
Under general direction of the Police Records Supervisor, performs a variety of record keeping duties including data entry, maintaining and retrieving technical information from computerized criminal justice information systems, and preparing reports within the police department. This is a less than 20 hours a week on average position.
Minimum qualifications
- One-year clerical or administrative experience involving extensive public contact, preferably in a law enforcement environment.
- Experience in using computers or related automation technology and administrative processes; prefer supplemental clerical courses or technical training.
- Arizona Criminal Justice Information System Terminal Operator Certification.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain an Arizona driver’s license within two months of hire.
Special Requirements
Due to the confidential, sensitive nature of information handled, successful completion of background investigation and a polygraph exam is required. Candidates given a conditional job offer will be required to successfully complete a psychological evaluation.
