The Position

The City of Riverside is seeking an experienced and creative Senior Media Production Technician to join our Department of Marketing and Communications' RiversideTV team. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

In this role, you will be involved with citywide media production efforts, creating high-quality video and broadcast content for web, social media, and the RiversideTV channels, including live event coverage. You’ll operate and maintain professional studio, field, lighting, and audio equipment; actively work on projects from concept to completion; and support City Council meetings, special events, and public safety communications. This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise, storytelling skills, and project management abilities to produce content that informs, engages, and inspires the Riverside community.

Under general direction, a Senior Media Production Technician will coordinate City-wide communications activities; coordinate production services related to both taped and live telecasts; operate video cameras, edit videotape and perform related production functions; write narrative copy for productions and provide other writing services as needed; and perform related work as required.

Work Performed

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Qualifications

Education: Equivalent to the completion of an Associate Degree (60 semester units) from an accredited college or university in communications, journalism, television production or a closely related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Three years of experience in professional telecommunications including one year of experience with audio-visual support.
