Job DescriptionWage Agency Instructor $45.00 per hour Temporary/Casual StaffTelecommuter - Region 5 - South PlainsThe Role at a GlanceThe Wage Agency Instructor is responsible for providing training for the municipal extension program - Region 5 in the state of Texas. This position provides instruction and coordinates classes, conferences, and area schools. This position also provides National Fire Academy hand-off and field delivery courses and provides training for annual schools and/or other special schools or courses as directed.
This role primarily supports the South Plains Association of Governments service area. Applicants must reside in any of the following counties to be considered: Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, King, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, Terry, and Yoakum.
This position reports to the Training Coordinator.
Qualifications of the Role - Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years’ experience in Emergency Services, I.E. Fire/Rescue/Haz-Mat, EMS, Emergency Management, or Law Enforcement.
- One year of experience in adult education and/or training.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Certified Instructor with Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) or State Firefighter’s and Fire Marshal’s Association (SFFMA), or Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), or Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), or equivalent.
Equivalency: Will consider a bachelor’s degree with three years of Emergency Services, I.E. Fire/Rescue/Haz-Mat, EMS, Emergency Management experience, or Law Enforcement or a High School Diploma or GED with seven years of Emergency Services, I.E. Fire/Rescue/Haz-Mat, EMS, Emergency Management, or Law Enforcement experience.
