This is a second-level vocational position accountable for planning, directing, and coordinating recreation-based treatment programs for people with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses. Responsible for assessing clients, performing treatment planning, facilitating activities, using and maintaining therapy equipment, and maintaining documentation.
This assignment will lead the habilitation programs that include grounds maintenance, recycling, community parks cleanup and facility courtyard beautification.

The primary duties assigned to this Senior Therapeutic Services Worker position include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees program management assignments, documentation, techniques and their therapeutic applications as a means of developing the consumer's social skills, responsibility, and initiative, as well as their ability to cope with problems, gain self-satisfaction, and adapt to reality situations.
- Introduce new features, activities and outings providing variety and diversity.
- Assist in escorting consumers to and from activity areas.
- Will keep and maintain a program documentation binder for consumer face sheet, dietary census and BSP.
Minimum Qualifications: - 2 or more years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and as necessary, drive during the day in rural, highway, or metro conditions to transport individuals to a variety of locations for appointment, employment, leisure or vacations. Must be able to drive the adaptive bus, van, and cars.
- Must possess adequate vision to read written material.
- Must possess adequate hearing.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions within 2 weeks of being offered this position.
- In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of individual and group behavior and effective ways of working with clients.
- Basic knowledge of a Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to physically intervene to maintain safety.
- Ability to establish and maintain client interest and participation in activities.
- Possess physical stamina required to provide physical assistance to clients and to respond in emergency situations with may require the ability to walk, run, sit, stand and kneel, to stand or walk for an extended period of time, lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs, ability to work both indoor and outdoor in variable weather conditions.
- Obtain and maintain all required trainings including First Aid, CPR, Safety Care, Advanced Safety Care, and all other trainings assigned.
- L1MA certified within 30 days of appointment or when made available by the facility.
