The City Clerk is the local official who administers democratic processes, including municipal elections, government transparency, access to city records, and all legislative actions ensuring transparency to the public. The City Clerk also acts as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act. The City Clerk’s Office is comprised of several divisions, including Legislative Services, Office of Records, Mail and Duplicating, and Main Reception.

The Process
The selection process will include an examination and conduct a background investigation prior to appointment. This recruitment may establish an eligibility list to fill future positions in similar and/or lower classifications within the organization.
