13% salary increase for all general non-management classifications, effective October 1, 2025.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under immediate supervision, assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and executing a wide range of City-sponsored recreational programs, activities, and special events designed to provide positive experiences and promote personal growth and development for participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate/GED AND six months of experience working in sports, camps, municipality, or school setting. Experience supervising large groups or events in a structured environment is highly desirable, as is possession of current First Aid and CPR certification. Current high school students aged 16 or above must be able to obtain a valid work permit from their high school.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Must have the physical strength and agility to lift, carry, and pull tables, chairs, equipment, etc., up to 50 pounds regularly; bend and twist in all directions, and squeeze with arms and hands. In addition, work may require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping.

THE SELECTION PROCESS

Consists of an application review to ensure that all applicants meet the minimum requirements for the job classification. A select number of qualified applicants will be invited to an interview with the Hiring Authority. All employment offers are contingent on a criminal background review via fingerprint submission for applicants over 18 years of age and provision of evidence of freedom from tuberculosis. Every individual the City employs must complete and sign the US Government form I-9 and provide documentation required by law showing that they are eligible to work in the United States.
