Warehouse Assistant (Part-Time)
Description
JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision, the warehouse assistant receives, checks, stores, issues, delivers, and maintains inventories of equipment and materials; reconciles and reviews credit card statements; process requests for payments; and does related work as assigned.

- Receive and sign for delivered materials, supplies, equipment, and maintain general organization in the receiving field
- Inspect incoming goods for proper quantity and quality of the delivery
- Fill requisitions for materials and supplies
- Respond to questions regarding stock items
- Take inventories and monitor supply levels
- Operate a forklift
- Maintain shelves and goods in clean and orderly condition
- Make routine and special deliveries to departments
- Process and reconcile purchasing related documents (such as credit card transactions, request for payments, data entry, clerical tasks, etc.)
- Performs additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Education/Training/Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and experience in receiving, storing, data entry, and issuing stock.
Licenses and Certificates: Must possess a valid California driver’s license. Forklift Certification is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have the knowledge of warehouse safety procedures; current warehouse methods of receiving, storing, issuing, and keeping records of materials, supplies, and equipment; skill in operating a 10-key calculator, personal computer, email, spreadsheet,phone, copy and fax machine; ability to make arithmetic calculations; lift or move up to 100 pounds; follow oral and written instructions; able to maintain effective working relationships with others, learn new inventory systems as needed, and meet required deadlines.

Part-time employees are enrolled in PARS (Public Alternate Retirement System). All part-time and seasonal employees contribute 7.5% each pay period on a pre-tax basis. If an employee reaches 1,000 hours within a fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) or is already a CalPERS member, then they are enrolled in CalPERS (Public Employees Retirement System).
The City complies with California Labor Code 245-249 by providing paid sick leave for part-time hourly employees accordingly.
The City of Manhattan Beach does not provide medical/dental/vision benefits to part-time employees. Eligible employees enrolled in CalPERS may opt into a CalPERS medical plan.
Salary:
$18.00 - $26.92 Hourly
