This position performs work that is varied and moderately complex with assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

Job Description:

Purpose:

Under general supervision, this position uses working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in providing routine maintenance and repair of Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) water meters. This position performs work that is varied and moderately complex with assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.


Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience in a field related to construction, maintenance, or operations, including at least one (1) year of experience in repairing or maintaining water or related systems.

All Austin Water worksite locations are tobacco-free.
Use of tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes is not permitted on any AW worksite - including construction sites, parking lot, garage or in any personal vehicle located on the premises.

Pay Range:

$24.08 - $27.93

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
May be required to work extended hours, modified shift work, on-call and call back, after hour emergency work, bad weather days and holidays as required by business need.
