An Environmental Review Planner II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department/Planning and Reporting Division. The City of Fort Worth is searching for an innovative and effective individual to complete strategic planning in support of housing and community development projects. The Community Development Planner II works with a strong supportive team on community development engagement and outreach, preparation of annual planning efforts, housing development projects, and works closely with Public Service Agencies, local nonprofits, and social service organizations in addressing the needs of low-to-moderate income Fort Worth families.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Planning, Urban Planning or Design, Geographic Information Systems, Architecture, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Historic Preservation, Archaeology or Architectural History, Real Estate Development or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in planning, urban design or a related field
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Planning, Public Administration or a related field
- Experience working with ArcGIS
- Strong research and writing skills and experience; ability to make presentations to a variety of audiences
- Knowledge and experience working with municipal government and federal regulations; attention to detail, excellent reading comprehension skills, flexibility in response to handling a variety of different assignments, and the ability to effectively work in a team environment
The Environmental Review Planner II job responsibilities include: - Complete Environmental Review's for all HUD Funded projects and activities
- Work closely with the Community Development Planner II in conducting community outreach to connect with Fort Worth neighborhoods
- Serve as the department's Key Performance Indicators Coordinator
- Prepare public notices, internal memoranda, HUD-required forms, written reports, spreadsheet analysis, and program schedules
- Train internal and external customers on City and HUD policies and procedures
- Attend monthly Community Development Council meetings held on the 2 nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., prepare presentations, and assist with meeting planning and coordination as needed
- Represent NSD at various community meetings and City Council as well as conduct relevant training
- Complete Mapping requests for the department
- Assist with Request for Proposal processes as needed
- Maintain Division websites
- Track and analyze program performance data, maintain HUD databases, update housing plans and reports, and work collaboratively with internal and external customers to ensure adherence to City and HUD procedures
