JOB SUMMARY

The Town of Prosper is currently seeking qualified and dedicated individual

for the position of:

Emergency Communications Officer (911-Dispatch)

Entry Salary Range: $50,273.60 - $59,571.20

Lateral Entry available depending on qualifications up to step 5.

Step 1: $50,273.60

Step 2: $52,603.20

Step 3: $54,932.80

Step 4: $57,241.60

Step 5: $59,571.20

Step 6: $61,900.80

Step 7: $64,209.60

Step 8: $66,539.20

Step 9: 68,848.00

Step 10: $71,177.60

Certification Pay:

• Intermediate Certification Pay - $600 per year.
• Advanced Certification Pay - $960 per year.
• Master Certification Pay - $1,500 per year.

Shift Differential Pay: $100 per month for any full-time (FTE) that works an overnight shift.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., and two (2) years data entry or customer service representative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain Texas Law Enforcement Dispatch Certification within six (6) months from date of employment. Preference may be given to applicants with current certifications.
• Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch, TCIC/NCIC, Positron 9-1-1 equipment, and TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) certifications.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and/or post-offer hearing exam, psychological test, pass written comprehension/ suitability test, and pass background investigation and MVR check. The hiring process will also include a series of interviews, which must be successfully completed.
• May be required to possess State of Texas Drivers License.

This position performs under the direct supervision of the Communications Supervisor, responds to emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatches needed services or directs calls to appropriate individual(s). This position requires on-site presence and is not eligible for remote or work-from-home arrangements.
