Description
The City of Weatherford’s Electric Utility Department is looking to hire an Electric Linemen A. This position will perform work related to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of overhead and underground electric systems. Roles & Responsibilities Include:- Installs, maintains, and removes poles including framing, hardware, guys, and other related materials.
- Installs, maintains, and removes transformers, capacitors, reclosers, regulators, switchers, conductors, and other electric utility equipment.
- Installs, maintains, and removes underground conductors, pad-mounted transformers, conduits, vaults, elbows, and other underground electric utility equipment.
- Operates various types of equipment including forklift, trencher, skid loader, backhoe, mini-excavator, backyard machine, bucket truck, and digger derrick.
- Responds to, troubleshoots, and repairs overhead and underground customer outages and complaints.
- Assists with the leading and training of Linemen Helpers and Apprentice Linemen.
Qualifications• High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND five years of overhead and underground electric utility system experience. • Must be a lineman certified to work with voltages up to 15kV. • Must have a valid Texas Class A CDL Driver's license. • Must live within 20 miles of the Parker County Courthouse due to emergency and stand-by requirements. Relocation is required within 180 days of employment if outside the 20 mile radius.
