The purpose of the positions is to provide program management, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of programs: Youth Education (which includes after-school, early childhood, camps, and family programs), Classes/Workshops, and the Latino/a/e Artist Access Program. The positions will coordinate youth and/or adult, as well as all-ages family friendly activities for the Center’s special events and workshops specializing in Mexican American, Latino/a/e, and Native American cultural arts.

Job Description:

Purpose:

Under general supervision, lead, develop and performs tasks in the development of cultural arts programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in related field plus one (1) year of experience in programming cultural arts programs.

Experience may substitute for education up to two (2) years.

The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) is dedicated to the preservation, creation, presentation, and promotion of the cultural arts of Mexican Americans and Latino/a/e cultures. The Center is a resource for the community and visitors to learn and participate in classes and programs that will foster a meaningful understanding and appreciation of not only Mexican American, but also Native American, Chicano, and other Latino/a/e cultures. The programs and educational curriculum include areas of visual art, theatre, dance, literature, music, language arts, and multi-media.

The positions will work under the direction and administrative guidance of the Culture & Arts Education Manager, who reports to the Culture and Educational Programs Division Manager. The purpose of the positions is to provide program management, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of programs: Youth Education (which includes after-school, early childhood, camps, and family programs), Classes/Workshops, and the Latino/a/e Artist Access Program. Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.

May be required to work during special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.

Work schedule and location is subject to change based on department needs and programs.

Travel:

If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Compensation:

$23.44 - $26.83/hour
