A position in the Missouri National Guard Facilities Division is more than a job, it's a calling. Our maintenance personnel supports soldiers that protect and aid Missourians citizens.
Job Location: This position will be located at Ike Skelton Training Site.
What you’ll do: • Accountable for planning and coordinating new construction, repair, and preventative maintenance for facilities and infrastructure under the control of the Missouri National Guard. Prepare construction plans and specifications for projects which includes developing scope of work, obtaining field measurements, and preparing cost estimates for required materials.
• Oversees private contractors by developing requisitions for projects regarding construction, maintenance and repair materials, equipment, and supplies within budget authority limits, define project scope, goals, and deliverables, evaluate and assess project results, manage, identify, and resolve issues.
• Develops, installs, constructs, repairs, and maintains various structures, fixtures, and buildings, working with materials like wood, steel, and concrete by measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling them according to blueprints and client needs. Key duties involve reading plans, using hand and power tools, ensuring safety, and collaborating with construction teams to complete residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Contracts routine maintenance painting and patch plastering of building surfaces and equipment. Paints buildings and equipment; patch plasters walls; and repairs or replaces tiles and other wall coverings.
• Contracts routine maintenance plumbing work such as unstopping toilets and drains, replacing faucets, valves and washers, and repairing water line leaks. Opens stopped sewage and drain lines; replaces or repairs faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, water lines, and other plumbing equipment and fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance electrical work such as replacing light bulbs, outlets, switches, etc., and limited repairs of electrical motors, generators, and communication systems. Repairs and replaces electrical outlets, light fixtures, switches, and other controls; repairs electrical motors, generators, and communication equipment; performs more complex electrical work (such as working with high voltage electrical systems) with appropriate training and education.
• Performs minor repairs and adjustments to a variety of machines and equipment such as window air conditioners, metal structures, kitchen appliances, etc. Repairs, adjusts, and calibrates a wide variety of machines and equipment such as window air conditioners and kitchen appliances.
Maintains and accounts for tools and trucks assigned.
Minimum Qualifications • Mastery of various carpentry tools and techniques.
• Performing physically demanding tasks like lifting heavy materials, working in cramped spaces, and maintaining various positions like kneeling and standing.
• Potentially working in conditions with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Valid State Driver’s License
