MO HealthNet Division has an opening for a
Research/Data Analyst within the
Managed Care Quality Oversight Unit located in
Cole County. Semi-monthly salary: The current rate for this position is
$2,516.17 . Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Job Location: This position is located at the
Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

- Support the Managed Care quality program through activities designed to monitor member access, quality, and timeliness of care. Monitoring activities are conducted in collaboration with internal staff, subcontractors and multiple state agencies.
- Develop and deliver various quality reports ranging in frequency between weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, as required in the Managed Care contract.
- Assist with research, analysis and selection of standardized healthcare quality measures for reporting, budget purposes, directed payments, or other regulatory processes.
- Participate in workgroups designed to improve outcomes of the Managed Care Program with the ability to plan, facilitate, present program updates, and draft meeting minutes.
- Assist with unit duties and reports as assigned including, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Show Me Healthy Babies (SMHB), Managed Care Quality Improvement Strategy, network adequacy, performance withhold, and external quality review.
- Assist with development of, and amendments to, various contracts managed by our unit. (i.e. network adequacy, external quality review and the compliance tool)
- Assist with contract development, readiness reviews and contract amendments as part of the procurement process for the Managed Care Contract Compliance Unit.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates for this position must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must have experience with data analysis, interpreting and reporting data. Experience with databases, Excel, Access and/or IBM Cognos Analytics is preferred. They must have knowledge of, and be able to, research policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations, and provide accurate interpretation. They must be able to design, format and accurately prepare management and administrative reports. Candidates must be able to work independently as well as in a team. This unit interacts with multiple agencies including Managed Care Health Plan staff, the Program’s actuary, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, our external quality review organization, as well as numerous DSS and MO HealthNet team members. Professionalism and the ability to build and maintain working relationships is crucial.
