Job Description Graduate Student Intern - Research Program Office $15.90 per hour 1 Position to be FilledLocation: Gateway - College Station, TXThe Role at a GlanceThe Graduate Student Worker will provide general administrative and testing support to personnel at all levels. Responsibilities include organizing files, assisting with proposal development, collecting assessment data, and drafting reports. This role also supports the planning and coordination of research activities, testing, and conferences for the TEEX Research Program Office. The Graduate Student Worker will utilize Microsoft Office 365, project management software, and vendor-specific platforms used in assessments.
This position works as a member of the Research Program office team and reports to the Director.
Qualifications of the Role:- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a graduate degree granting program at an accredited college or university.
- One year of related work experience.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience or education in public policy, safety or defense related fields.
- Experience in researching and writing graduate level reports.
- Interest or experience in technical products, programs and operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages:General Office Assistance - 60%- Planning for conferences/summits.
- Conducts online research of technologies, organizations and public safety companies.
- Answers inquiries regarding TEEX Research Program office capabilities.
- Assists with testing preparations.
- Assist team in testing and evaluation, data collection and drafting reports.
- Assists with updating computers and course equipment.
Divisional/Program Responsibilities - 40%- Serves as initial customer service point of contact to include greeting visitors, directing students, and answering/transferring phone calls.
- Responds to customer service inquiries via phone and email.
- Copies, scans, files, sorts and compiles records and documents.
- Enters and maintains accurate data in relevant databases and spreadsheets.
- Utilizes a state vehicle to run departmental errands.
- Maintains and safeguards assigned divisional equipment and property.
- Maintains a clean and neat appearance.
- Maintains an orderly and clean workspace.
- Performs additional work duties as assigned.
