Requirements

Requirements to Qualify

Four years of supervisory experience at the level of County of Los Angeles class of Administrative Services Manager II* or higher overseeing a unit responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of capital projects for a California-based public agency with a budget of at least $1 million per capital project.

If you performed work that differs from the duties described in your class specification and believe you qualify for this opportunity, please provide verification via official documentation of additional responsibility bonus, out-of-class bonus, temporary assignment bonus or reclassification study with CEO Classification within 7 calendar days from application submission. Employees do not need to submit such verification if they hold or have held a position that regularly performs functions in alignment with the requirements.

LICENSE:

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

PHYSICAL CLASS:

Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
*Experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Administrative Services Manager II is defined as supervising a unit of professional staff responsible for performing a full range of difficult to complex analytical assignments within one or more administrative functional areas and makes recommendations on highly complex issues which directly impact departmental programs and administrative operations, and which may be of a confidential or sensitive nature.

Acceptable classes for Administrative Services Manager II include, but are not limited to:

Program Specialist IV, CEO

Senior Staff Analyst, Health Services

This examination will consist of two (2) parts:
Part I: Multiple Choice and/or Simulation Assessments, weighted 60%, measuring:
MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND/OR SIMULATION ASSESSMENT(S) ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

Part II: An Evaluation of Training & Experience, weighted 40%, measuring:
Applicants must meet the Specialty Requirements and achieve 70% or higher on the combined score of Parts I and II in order to be placed on the eligible register.

Transfer of test components:
If you recently took identical components for other exams, the test responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams, and your responses could be transferred to that exam.

Test preparation:
We provide study guides and other test preparation resources to help candidates prepare for employment tests. While the guides may help in preparing for the test, we recommend reviewing all related materials that seem necessary.
Eligibility and Vacancy Information:
Candidates who passed the assessment are placed on a register in the order of their score group for a period of six (6) months. We will use this register to fill vacancies as they occur.
