This position is fully benefited to include 8 WEEKS PAID PARENTAL LEAVE. We also offer shift differential for evening shift ($1.00) and midnight shift ($1.50) along with a $3,000 annual language stipend for those who pass Spanish/Sign Language Translator criteria.

Lateral transfer police officers can receive all or partial credit for their previous years of service. The pay rate will be established based on comparable wages with Olathe Police Officers.

To keep peace and work with the community on mutual problems and concerns. Perform a wide variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the police department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce local and state law.
- Investigate felony, misdemeanor and ordinance violations.
- Investigate traffic accidents and enforce the traffic code.
- Work with stakeholders to solve neighborhood problems.
- Prevent crime and disorder.
- Prepare reports and be able to credibly testify in court.
- Perform duties and responsibilities as required.
Experience: Entry level position, some related law enforcement experience preferred.
Education:High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of college preferred.
Licenses and/or Certificates: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver's license and Kansas Police Officer Certification.
