A part-time Office Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department Gun Violence Unit. The Gun Violence Unit investigates all shootings for the Fort Worth Police Department. This position provides administrative and clerical support to unit personnel and assists with daily office operations in support of investigative staff.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED certification
- Two (2) years of responsible clerical experience
- Must pass Drug Screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications: - Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work in a team atmosphere
The Office Assistant job responsibilities include: - Reviewing offense reports for the supervisor
- Maintaining the Unit's budget
- Reviewing and assigning cases to the investigators
- Categorizing and maintaining case files to be reviewed by the District Attorney's office
- Answering phones and ordering office supplies

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class
