Job Description:

Security Manager

Purpose:
Under general direction, this position provides management and oversight of the public safety and security functions at facilities across the City of Austin. This position plans, directs, or coordinates security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or other company property through the development, implementation, and management policies and methods to protect against threats across the enterprise.

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:

Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.

The Library Security Manager provides leadership and oversight of systemwide security operations to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Austin Public Library staff and patrons across all locations. This position implements security policies and procedures, manages and trains security staff, and evaluates security operations, staffing, and technologies. The Security Manager collaborates with library leadership and public safety partners to support compliance, risk reduction, and the Library’s public service mission.

Work Location:

All Austin Public Library Locations (Austin, Texas)

Salary Range:

$80,490 to $102,200 annually

Hours:

Full-time - Shift Work | 40 hours per week
