Wastewater Maintenance System Specialist
Description
Distinguishing Features of the Class
Under general supervision the Wastewater Maintenance System Specialist will assess the procurement requirements and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the alignment of purchasing, receiving and warehousing activities meet the specification and budgetary needs of the WRA. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class effectively works with other City employees to research, identify, and procure all project parts, supplies, services, and handle all day-to-day Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) supply purchases for the Wastewater Reclamation Facility (WRF) Central Stores Warehouse.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED; and
Six (6) years of experience in inventory control, research and/or procurement of a wide variety of products, involving complex mechanical, electrical or industrial goods and services.
Any equivalent combination in which each year of additional education may be substituted for one year of experience for up to four years of the required experience.
Required Special Qualifications
Candidates for positions in this class must pass a post-employment offer background check, physical examination, and drug screen.
Possession of a valid driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)
Maintains accurate equipment history and performance records with the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Contacts merchants to obtain availability and prices of needed equipment, parts, materials, and supplies.
Receives, stores, and fills orders; issues tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
Maintains accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and monitoring.
Maintains tool crib and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Checks incoming orders against purchase orders and/or requisitions to ensure completeness.
Performs physical inventory handling, relocating, and organizing.
Researches equipment for requested components utilizing blueprints, one-line drawings, equipment manuals, parts lists, bid documents, and other literature.
