Parks & Recreation Operations Supervisor at
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. This is a dynamic and challenging role at one of Scottsdale’s signature parks, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors annually and generates over $2.8 million in revenue.
In this position, you’ll keep the park running on the right track by leading a team of full-time staff responsible for attractions, concessions, the model train building, museums, the Roundhouse, and special events. You’ll also help engineer new ideas and experiences that elevate the park for our community and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and lead staff managing attractions, concessions, and special events
- Develop and implement operational plans that improve efficiency and elevate the visitor experience
- Train new employees and ensure adherence to safety and service standards
- Collaborate on new initiatives and event planning to drive business growth and community engagement
- Deliver creative solutions to operational challenges in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Perform daily reconciliation and accounting processes
- Supervise and support city employees to maintain a positive and productive work environment

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $43.24/hour. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience - A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Three years of experience in a related field specific to the area of assignment.
- Must have at least one year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements - Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver’s licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona. Note: Graduated Driver’s Licenses are considered restricted.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
