Under general supervision, perform a variety of moderately complex engineering and technical tasks in support of the Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Baggage Handling System (SCADA-BHS) projects and assignments. Exercise judgment within the defined methods, procedures, and practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


Notes to Candidate:

Performs a variety of moderately complex engineering and technical tasks in support of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for the Baggage Handling System (SCADA-BHS). Supports 24/7 real time BHS control system integrity and ensures the highest operational reliability and system availability.
Leads the daily maintenance of the system to accomplish the best performance communicates with dispatch, engineers and field crews, performs troubleshooting, problem analysis and resolution as required.
Coordinates and analyzes the real-time control system user’s request develops and implements enhancements or modifications requested in a timely manner.
Communicates systems activity status to customers and management. Perform application programming activities including coding, testing, debugging, documentation and system modifications. Configures and programs process control applications such as Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) functions. Updates, maintains and documents security controls. Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring data security profiles. Respond to after hour requests for remote support of the BHS. Lead, train and provide guidance and work oversight of others.

Assessment:

A skills assessment will be required for this position.

Salary Range:

$75,930-$96,430

Driver’s Requirement:

This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite . To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City’s Driver Record Evaluation Standards.

This position is categorized as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and, in some cases, when they are not scheduled.

Work Hours:

Sunday-Wednesday 5:00 AM-4:00 PM

Wednesday-Saturday 5:00 AM-4:00 PM

Hours may change according to departmental needs; work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekend work.

Shift Incentive:

Shift work includes shift differential incentive for evening and night shifts and weekends

On-Call/Call Back Responsibilities:

Position may require on-call or call back responsibilities.
