POSITION OVERVIEWApplications accepted from: ALL PERSONS INTERESTEDJob Classification: SENIOR IT PROFESSIONAL-INFRASTRUCTURE (Enterprise Video)Posting Number: 38265Department: Information TechnologyDivision: Infrastructure ServicesReporting Location: 611 WalkerWorkdays & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Subject to change based on operational needs) DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Senior IT Professional Infrastructure (Enterprise Video) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise video infrastructure solutions that support secure, reliable, and high-quality video streaming, recording, and integration across the organization. This role is to lead the design, deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management of our Enterprise Video ecosystem supporting Physical Security operations. This role spans IP cameras and edge devices, video management systems (VMS), storage and compute, secure network architecture, and integration with cybersecurity tooling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Own end-to-end architecture for enterprise video: cameras, encoders, VMS (e.g., Genetec, Milestone), access control integrations, and long-term retention storage.
- Design secure, segmented network topologies (VLANs, ACLs, micro-segmentation) for video traffic; implement multicast, QoS, PoE capacity planning, and time synchronization (NTP/PTP).
- Lead deployments, migrations, and upgrades for cameras, switches, servers, and VMS components across multiple sites.
- Manage video storage (NAS/SAN/object), retention policies, indexing, and performance tuning (I/O, throughput, RAID levels).
- Enforce secure configuration baselines for cameras/edge devices (password policy, certificate management, encryption, secure boot).
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity for Zero Trust, vulnerability management, least privilege access (IAM/RBAC), and log/telemetry forwarding (SIEM/SOC).
- Establish end-to-end observability: camera availability, stream health, VMS services, storage capacity, and SLA reporting.
- Serve as the technical liaison with Physical Security, Facilities, Warehouse/Operations, and third-party OEMs/integrators.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide managed service providers.
- Design & Architecture - Develop and maintain enterprise video infrastructure architecture, including video streaming and surveillance systems.
- Implementation & Maintenance - Deploy and configure video systems, servers, and network components; monitor system performance.
- Integration & Automation - Integrate video platforms with enterprise applications (e.g., Security Center, ArcGIS); automate workflows for video data transmission and storage.
WORKING CONDITIONS There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditioning. Significant time spent using computer displays, keyboard, and mouse.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field.
Information systems-specific technical certifications may be substituted for 1 year of either the education or the experience requirement, as applicable. Related professional Information Systems experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE: At least six (6) years of technology experience supporting IT infrastructure. System-specific technical certifications required.
Advanced certifications and applicable work experience beyond six (6) years may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the education requirement. System-specific technical certifications may be considered for substitution for 1 year of experience.
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the experience requirement.
