ABOUT THIS POSITION:
We are pursuing qualified candidates to fill Program Implementation Manager, Health Services positions within the Department of Public Health. We are looking for someone who manages a major section in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and administration of departmental strategic health care program initiatives and projects.

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:

OPTION I:

Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience* in a staff capacity** analyzing, evaluating, coordinating, and making recommendations for a variety of healthcare programs for a large integrated healthcare delivery system***, one year (1) of which must have included supervisory Environmental Health experience**** at the level***** of Los Angeles County's class of Senior Staff Analyst, Health , Assistant Hospital Administrator IV , or higher.

OPTION II:

Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience* in a staff capacity** analyzing, evaluating, coordinating, and making recommendations for a variety of human services programs for a social services provider, one year (1) of which must have included supervisory Environmental Health experience**** at the level***** of Los Angeles County's class of Senior Staff Analyst, Health , or higher.

LICENSE:
A valid California Class "C" Driver's License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

PHYSICAL CLASS:
2 - Light -
This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:

* Progressively responsible experience is defined as work experience that clearly shows an upward progression in the level of duties and responsibilities from one job to the next.

** Staff capacity is defined as work in an advisory capacity to line managers to provide program and administrative support. Work includes assisting and supporting administration by doing research, analysis, and making recommendations to line managers on matters such as: utilization of personnel; allocation of funds; workload and workload fluctuations; and programs and procedures for accomplishing work objectives. Work under general supervision of the line or division manager.

***A large integrated healthcare delivery system is defined as a network of healthcare providers, including hospitals, physician groups, and other ancillary services, that work together under one organization to provide a coordinated continuum of care to a defined patient population.

****Environmental Health Experience consists of knowledge, skills, and practical expertise acquired through work in fields related to environmental health which includes knowledge of environmental justice and climate health. Environmental health experience includes the assessment, management, and mitigation of health risks associated with environmental factors and evaluating the impact of these hazards on public health. As well as developing strategies to manage or reduce risks to human health from environmental hazards and implementing control measures, safety protocols, and best practices to mitigate exposure. Experience in regulatory compliance of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.

VETERAN'S CREDIT:

EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This assessment type will evaluate the experience you list on a questionnaire and assign a score based on a standardized scoring system.

This part of the assessment is worth 100% of your total score and assesses: Requirements and Desirable Qualifications.

Candidates must meet the requirements to qualify and must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to be added on the Eligible List.

Passing this examination and being added to the Eligible List does not guarantee an offer of employment.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION & VACANCY INFORMATION:
Applicants who passed the assessment(s) are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months. Applications will be processed as they are received and added to the list accordingly. We will use this list to fill vacancies in the Department of Public Health as they occur.
