The PositionThe Claremont Community Services Department is looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to provide assistance to the Sanitation Division. The Maintenance Assistants for the Sanitation Division will assist commercial refuse drivers with moving bins and navigating clearance zones. They will pick-up and deliver dumpsters, automated containers, and bulky household item discards; perform valet services; and keep the City Yard clean.
The Maintenance Assistant position is 25 hours per week between Monday and Saturday, 5:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Hours of work may vary, and some evening and holiday hours may be required. Actual work schedule depends on crew assignment and will be determined upon hire. All Maintenance Assistant assignments are made at the discretion of the Director of Community Services.

Experience: Related sanitation/maintenance experience is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications: Due to the performance of field duties, which will require operation of a motor vehicle, a valid California Class C Driver's License and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment and through employment is required.
